Salary Calculator

An offer names a yearly figure, a payslip a monthly one, an agency an hourly one — and comparing them in your head is where mistakes live. Type any of them, say what share goes to tax and other deductions, and all five periods appear at once, before and after deductions. The rate is yours to give: tax law changes yearly and differs by country, and a built-in table would be wrong before the page loaded.

This amount is

Period Before deductions Take-home

No tax tables are built in: rates change by law and differ from country to country, so the page asks for the rate instead of guessing it. Take it from your contract or payslip — the arithmetic here is exact, the guess would not be.

How to use

  1. Type the amount and choose the period it is named for.
  2. Say whether it is before deductions or take-home.
  3. Fill in the tax rate and any other deductions — the table updates as you type.

Good to know

Why the tax rate is asked, not guessed

Rates change by law, differ between countries and sometimes between regions of one country, and depend on allowances that only you know about. A site that hard-codes them starts lying quietly within a year, and looks confident doing it. Your contract or payslip has the real number; put it in and every figure here is exact.

A month is a year over twelve, not four weeks

Four weeks a month gives 48 weeks a year — a month short of reality, and a noticeable error by December. Everything here is counted through the year: a month is a twelfth of it, a week is a 52.18th, and an hour comes from your own hours-per-week. That is why the yearly figure stays the same no matter which period you type into.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no country to choose?

Because a wrong tax table is worse than no tax table. Rates change by law and depend on personal allowances; the page asks for one number you can read off your payslip and is exact from there.

Can I go from take-home back to gross?

Yes — switch to “take-home” and type the amount you receive. The page solves the same equation backwards, including fixed monthly deductions.

Why is no currency shown?

The page does not know your currency and will not invent one. The arithmetic is the same in any of them, and a wrong symbol next to a right number is worse than no symbol.

Is anything sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser, and your salary is nobody else’s business — including ours.
