Good to know
Why a PDF and not a folder of pictures
One file arrives in one piece. A folder of photos gets reordered by whoever opens it, loses a page in an email thread, and prints in whatever sequence the viewer felt like. A PDF fixes the order, the page size and the margins — which is precisely why offices, schools and government portals ask for one.
Every format your browser can open
JPG and PNG obviously, but also WebP, HEIC from an iPhone, GIF, BMP and AVIF. They are decoded on your device and re-encoded into the document; a HEIC that no office program would open becomes an ordinary page inside the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is assembled inside your browser, on your device. That is what makes it safe to put a passport photo or a signed contract through it.
How is this different from JPG to PDF?
It is the same tool with a wider door: JPG is one of the formats, and here PNG, WebP, HEIC and the rest are equally welcome.
Can I choose the page order?
Yes. Arrange the files with the arrows before building — the pages come out in exactly that sequence.
Will the file be huge?
It depends on your photos. Photographs are stored as JPEG inside the PDF, so a page weighs about as much as the picture did. Lower the quality if the file has to travel by email.
How many images can go into one PDF?
Up to fifty per document. Beyond that a phone starts running out of memory, and a clear limit is better than a tab that dies halfway.
