      What resolution to choose

      A PDF page is measured in points, not pixels, so the size of the picture depends entirely on the resolution. An A4 page at 96 dpi gives about 800 × 1120 pixels, at 150 dpi about 1240 × 1750, at 300 dpi about 2480 × 3500. Higher numbers mean sharper text and heavier files.

      JPG or PNG

      JPG is right for scans and pages with photographs: the file is several times smaller and the loss is invisible. PNG keeps thin lines and text edges perfectly crisp, which matters for diagrams, tables and screenshots that will be zoomed.

      Is my document uploaded anywhere?

      No. The pages are rendered by your own browser and the file never leaves the device.

      Can I convert only one page?

      Every page becomes a separate image, so just download the one you need. To keep a page as PDF instead, use the split tool.

      Why is the text blurry?

      The resolution is too low for the size you are viewing at. Convert again at 150 or 300 dpi.

      Does it work with scanned PDFs?

      Yes. A scan is already a picture inside the document, and it is extracted at the resolution you choose.
